LEONA'S ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL CINNAMON ROLLS

My mother always baked bread. During my growing up years she baked it at least two times every week and many times three times a week. She always made three loaves, one pan of dinner rolls and a pan of cinnamon rolls. As soon as the breads were taken from the oven she rubbed butter on the crust tops to keep them soft. Oh, the aroma that filled our home on those bread baking days, it was unmatched!

My mother’s sister, Leona, has always done the same for her family. It is always a real pleasure to visit my Aunt Leona, have a cup of coffee and a piece of her truly superb homemade bread! I’m not taking anything away from my Mom’s cinnamon rolls BUT Leona’s are better than Mom’s! Leona’s are totally unbeatable! Of course I asked her for her recipe! Here is her recipe for cinnamon rolls.

You can use frozen cinnamon rolls dough from the grocery store or mix your own – but this is how to prepare them for the oven.

Melt, mix and put in the bottom of the pan ½ c. brown sugar

½ c. granulated sugar

1 stick butter

2/3 c. vanilla ice cream

1 tsp. cinnamon

Bake according to instructions in your recipe (Don’t over bake) INVITE THE NEIGHBORS IN FOR A CUP OF COFFEE... THEY'LL LOVE YOU!

This is a picture of Aunt Leona completing one of the things on her 'bucket list'. I love this picture because my very first memory of her was when she went ice-skating with my Dad, my brothers and me on the frozen creek close to our home. (I don't know who the really great guy is who is making sure she doesn't fall but isn't he great?)

Totally easy delicious pasta for dinner

This recipe on Facebook caught my interest. It had a demo video attached to it! I quickly wrote the recipe on a piece of scrap paper - and picked up the ingredients next time I went grocery shopping.
