JERRY LEE'S JELLO/CRANBERRY SALAD
Updated: Nov 26, 2020
Jerry Lee was a friend of mine when I lived in Sioux City, Iowa. She was married to a really handsome fellow and they had five children. Jerry Lee was attractive; in fact, when I first saw Sarah Palin (VP running mate with John McCain) I was taken with how much Jerry Lee resembled her. Jerry Lee and my friendship ended when I learned that she was having an affair with my husband (my ex-husband)… while I babysat her children!!!! Well anyway, I did get a really great recipe from her that I’ve used every Thanksgiving since!
Dissolve 1 small pkg. cherry Jell-O in just a bit less than one cup of boiling water – set in refrigerator until it begins to set up
ADD
1 peeled and diced apple
2 stalks celery cut in small pieces
1 cup chopped nuts
1 can cranberry sauce (not the jellied)
FOLD IN 1 small carton (less 3 TBSP) sour cream
Pour into Jell-O mold and set in refrigerator.
(Note: Line plate with lettuce before turning the salad out from the mold for a festive look.)
