My own recipe for DELICIOUS Apple Salad
My mother used to slice apples and bananas, add a dressing made with Miracle Whip Salad Dressing, sugar and milk. It was my favorite. When I began cooking in my own kitchen I expanded the recipe, For years I’ve served this recipe for Thanksgiving dinner as well as with other meals throughout the year. Before we could buy seedless grapes my daughters job was to slice the grapes and de-seed them. Daughter Lori, especially, disliked the task just as much as she and Connie both disliked shining the silverware!- they did both – every Thanksgiving! At any rate, this recipe remains one of my favorites and I can now buy seedless grapes which is so much faster than seeding them..
WHAT YOU NEED: 4 apples peeled and cut up
1 cup seedless grapes (cut in two) 2 celery stalks cut into small pieces
1 cup miniature marshmallows
¼ cup walnut (or pecan) halves Combine the following and fold into the above apple mix
½ cup Salad Dressing (or Mayonnaise)
⅓ cup sugar
½ cup heavy whipped cream
. Chill before serving. (This recipe serves six.)
