Mrs. Emmet Tenly's recipe for LASAGNA
WOW! This is one of the most worn & used recipe in my collection! It was published in the Council Bluffs Nonpareil in 1968! At some point in time I copied it onto a recipe card but by the time I slipped it into a plastic sleeve I’d used it so many times that now
it is difficult to read through the accumulated smudges. It is an excellent, easy and quick recipe for lasagna! I don’t know Mrs. Tenly but I thank her for sharing the recipe that I have served to my family many many times.
Brown and drain: 1 lb. hamburger w/chopped onion
Add: 1 #202 can tomatoes 1 6-oz can tomato paste
1 2-oz can mushrooms (cut up) ¼ tsp. oregano
2 tsp. garlic salt
1 bay leaf
Boil lasagna noodles while above is simmering (1/2 package)
Spoon into baking dish as follows:
1. Sauce
2. Noodles
3. Cheese (mixture of 1 cup parmesan grated cheese & 1 cup grated longhorn cheese)
(Continue to layer and end up with cheese on top layer)
Cover and bake in 350⁰ oven for 30 minutes
Serve with a salad and garlic bread.

Just out of the oven!

Served for one of our meals (Mah Jongg weekend) at the lodge in Ponca State Park.
